For this piece, I constructed wooden boxes to house reprints of family photographs displayed in three dimensional, diorama-like objects. The act of placing these photographs into wodden boxes is essentially containing them in the same archival fashion in which they have been housed for many years. The interiors of the boxes are recreations of a time and space that i am related to, while the disparate nature of the images is evidence of my separation.

The Process of discovering a family history through viewing old photographs is one in which most people can relate. The photographs are not only fascinating to look at, but the stories that accompany the images are equally important. With a family photographic archive there is a sense of urgency and a desire to discover what may have been lost over time.
