Collab 22

I had the privilege of working with artist and designer, Shelly Kuzniarek (French Press) on a collaborative piece that is included in the exhibition Collab 22 at the Firehouse Gallery in Rochester, NY throughout the month of May. As a letterpress printer, Shelly made prints using a variety of wood type and image cuts and I used her prints to cover five boxes that I constructed using book board. Below are images from the exhibition, featuring collaborative works by many Rochester based artists.

Art of the Book

My book, The Dream-Child, is part of the 10th Annual Art of the Book exhibition at the Rochester Public Library. This exhibition is one of my favorite to experience every year! The Rundel Memorial Building where the Anthony Mascioli Gallery is located is a wonderful space with so much history. The exhibition features work by local, national and international artists that showcase a wide range of book and paper arts. I have had the privilege of getting to know several of the featured local artists at Flower City Arts Center over the years, including Victoria Brzustowicz, Kate Fisher, Sue Huggins Leopard, and Martha Schermerhorn - these woman are an inspiration.

Along the River’s Edge

I’m so pleased that one of my books will be featured in Along the River’s Edge, the annual juried exhibition at Thousand Islands Arts Center in my home town of Clayton, NY. I’m looking forward to seeing the show during my monthly trip to the river.

Photogravure

I was recently part of a group exhibition at Flower City Arts Center that showcased the work of Rochester regional artists that all share a common link — having been students of Pat Bacon. Pat has been teaching the photogravure process locally over the past several years. I had the privilege of learning the process from her at a weekend workshop at Main Street Arts in Clifton Springs. Here are some images of the exhibition. I feel honored to be showcased amongst so many talented artists.

  • I currently have work on view at the Davison Gallery at Roberts Wesleyan College for their faculty exhibition. I am so pleased to be included in this show as an adjunct amongst my talented colleagues - Romy Hosford, Joanna Poag, Scot Bennet, and Mike Mooney. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the campus is not currently open to the general public. Below is a sneak peak at one of the video pieces that is on display in the gallery.

  • I am included in the Heart-to-Art: Teaching Artist Virtual Showcase at Flower City Arts Center. This online exhibition is on view until April 1st and showcases the work of teaching artists that offer classes at FCAC.
